"I love a woman called Mulongo, and because I travel so much I never have time to see her." The playing of the stick rhythms is a speciality of the Tonga. A number of men, in this case three, take a short stick each apiece, and taps out a simple rhythm which fits into the rhythms tapped by the others. The result is a complex syncopation. most difficult to analyse. The sticks may be tapped on any convenient object, such as a log of wood-in this case on the body of a drum which was not being used for this dance. Bugogo party dance with sticks and 1 small Gogogo drum beaten by hands.
