Factor loading after rotation that emerged on the same component was described; as brooding, shelter and care of the chicks; predators and healthcare; hygiene and litter management; feeds and feeding stuff; and record keeping and marketing. The findings on the human resource development revealed that staff meetings were the most common method of capacity development. This was followed by in-service-training, formal study, workshop, and on the job training. The farmers’ field school and study tours were sparingly used. However, respondents were in favor of on-site training, staff meetings, formal study and in-service training. The findings on the appropriate model suggest a theoretical indigenous poultry production model (IPPM) for the Eastern Cape Province (ECP). The “open social system” was used to develop a framework for an indigenous poultry cooperative society (to be known as Abafuyi Benkukhu Zemveli [ABZ]). This was meant to create a binding force for capacity development, a strong economic foundation through equity contributions, creation of marketing channels, and the development of a concept of ‘‘our own'' product in the market. Lastly, the study offers options for a training program that would accommodate the new initiatives, with a strong capacity development training approach. In this context, the study advocates for institutional support for the IPFs and the incorporation of indigenous poultry in the curriculum of the agricultural training programs at higher education institutions in South Africa.]]> Wed 12 May 2021 16:27:48 SAST ]]> The impact of the cultural and creative industries on the economic growth and development of small cities and towns - guidelines for creating a regional cultural policy https://commons.ufh.ac.za/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:28032 Tue 24 Aug 2021 09:08:59 SAST ]]> Local economic development in the rural town of Butterworth, Mnquma Municipality, 1997-2013 https://commons.ufh.ac.za/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:43374 Tue 22 Jun 2021 19:37:26 SAST ]]> Youth entrepreneurship and poverty alleviation in Kentane https://commons.ufh.ac.za/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:28985 Tue 12 Mar 2024 15:47:56 SAST ]]> Exploring the suitability of the evaluation criteria used in the MPT projects, by looking at hard and soft components of development programmes https://commons.ufh.ac.za/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:3397 Thu 13 May 2021 16:40:34 SAST ]]> Poverty alleviation through the implementation of local economic development in rural municipalities https://commons.ufh.ac.za/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:35357 Thu 13 May 2021 08:48:19 SAST ]]> An assessment of the experience of small town local economic development in the Eastern Cape Midlands https://commons.ufh.ac.za/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:4888 Thu 13 May 2021 08:24:02 SAST ]]> The impact of the Blue Crane development agency on tourism development: a comparative analysis https://commons.ufh.ac.za/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:9129 Thu 13 May 2021 08:11:55 SAST ]]> An investigation into problems facing small-to-medium sized enterprises in achieving growth in the Eastern Cape : enhancing the strategy for developing small 'growth potential' firms in the Eastern Cape https://commons.ufh.ac.za/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:1173 Thu 13 May 2021 06:59:24 SAST ]]> Analysis of official development assistance (ODA) in the Eastern Cape Province https://commons.ufh.ac.za/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:9202 Thu 13 May 2021 06:35:25 SAST ]]> The entrepreneurial orientation of small businesses in the Eastern Cape https://commons.ufh.ac.za/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:9304 Thu 13 May 2021 05:44:34 SAST ]]> Co-operatives support programme of the Cacadu District Municipality https://commons.ufh.ac.za/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:20961 Thu 13 May 2021 05:36:54 SAST ]]> The challenges facing the implementation of local economic development programmes: a case study of the Great Kei Local Municipality https://commons.ufh.ac.za/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:9192 Thu 13 May 2021 05:22:59 SAST ]]> An evaluation of the local economic development strategy: the case of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality https://commons.ufh.ac.za/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:8207 Thu 13 May 2021 04:09:58 SAST ]]> The local economic development of the Inkwanca Local Municipality : challenges and oppotunities of the municipality https://commons.ufh.ac.za/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:9197 Thu 13 May 2021 04:01:26 SAST ]]> Mhlontlo Municipality local economic development strategy as a driver of economic development https://commons.ufh.ac.za/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:29453 Thu 13 May 2021 03:27:32 SAST ]]> Tourism potential as a tool for local economic development in Mnquma Local Municipality https://commons.ufh.ac.za/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:20398 Thu 13 May 2021 03:18:58 SAST ]]> Assessing the role of cooperatives in poverty alleviation in the Eastern Cape: a the case of Amathole district municipality https://commons.ufh.ac.za/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:11669 Thu 13 May 2021 02:05:51 SAST ]]> An exploration of the LED programme on the Blue Crane Route Municipality with specific reference to Cookhouse https://commons.ufh.ac.za/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:9221 Thu 13 May 2021 01:20:18 SAST ]]> An evaluation of the Nelson Mandela Metropole as a location to attract investment https://commons.ufh.ac.za/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:973 Thu 13 May 2021 01:08:28 SAST ]]> The contribution of export support programmes for small and medium enterprises in the agro-processing sector in the Eastern Cape https://commons.ufh.ac.za/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:43271 Mon 21 Jun 2021 10:26:11 SAST ]]>
